I used this radio alarm clock in my living area and bedroom. It sounded better in my bedroom, as it's a smaller space and I was closer to the speaker. Because the speaker is positioned at the back, the sound seemed somewhat distant unless a nearby wall reflected the sound. While the sound quality isn't exceptional, it's perfectly acceptable for bedside use with radio, podcasts, and music to help me fall asleep. The sleep timer function allows for music playback from 5 to 120 minutes.
The 3.5mm audio output jack offers an alternative listening experience via headphones, and the sound quality is improved with a good pair of headphones.
The DAB radio provides clear sound and is easy to tune using the SCAN button.
Bluetooth connectivity worked well for playing audio from my phone.
The time and date updated automatically upon initial power-on and DAB radio station connection. While there was a slight delay in updating for daylight saving time, it eventually corrected itself. Setting the time manually is possible, or alternatively, turning off the power, turning on again and connecting to DAB radio will also automatically update the time. The date format is set to DD-MM-YY and can't be changed; other region models may have different date format.
The alarm function worked satisfactorily. You can wake up to vibration, simple beeping, or the last selected FM or DAB channel. The alarm volume will gradually increase to the set volume level.
The display's brightness can be set to adjust automatically based on the surrounding light, a feature I find very convenient throughout the day. It does not disrupt my sleep.
The USB port charged my phone, although the charging speed was slow, and compatibility with some USB cables was an issue.
The idea of this is great, but after playing around with it, was hard to use. The sound while loud, sounds far away and tinny. The LED lights and mutiliple displays is rather cool and you can adjust the settings to make it just how you want. Still a great product, but not perfect.
